SANTIAGO CITY TOUR

Santiago is a modern metropolis that has been experiencing a dramatic cultural and economic development for the past decade. It is also rich in history, culture and architecture dating back to the 16th century.

Our tour is customized to satisfy your interests. We have planned a full-day tour that includes lunch at a traditional Chilean restaurant or a half-day walking tour. Depending on your choice, the tour may include the following highlights:

* La Moneda, once the National Mint, is now the Presidential Palace.

* Plaza de Armas, the main square.

* The Pre-Colombian Art Museum, which shows exhibits on the indigenous groups that lived in Central and South America before the Spanish conquest.

* Santa Lucia hill, where Don Pedro de Valdivia founded Santiago in 1541. This hill was a fort used by the Spanish to fend off a fierce resistance by the Araucanian indians.

Tours depart at approx. 9am and return at approx. 6pm. Price includes transportation, fluent English-speaking guide, and entrance fees where applicable (lunch is optional).
